Hello Wonderful NJACDA Member,

Happy Friday! For our public school friends, I hope that you are celebrating the onset of a three-day weekend! I wanted to give you a recap from “Resonate,” our Eastern Division Conference that was held in Boston last week from February 9-12. New Jersey was well represented at the conference! I’ve put together a list of repertoire and/or links to performances from the NJ choirs that participated at the festival here. Please use this as a resource when you are shopping for new repertoire. I’ve also included the director’s emails, should you want to reach out with a message of congratulations or a question!

A Quick Overview Of the Festival

The festival was wonderfully organized by the conference committee. The sessions that were offered were interesting and featured speakers, directors and choirs from a wide variety of backgrounds. As you would expect, there were opportunities to connect with colleagues and meet new people, which was a joy! Some highlights were the Director’s Choruses, who were led by Sandra Snow, A. Jan Taylor, Craig Hella Johnson, and Brandon Boyd. Other notable events were the honor choir performances, the session entitled “Come Sunday” let by Arreon Harley-Emerson, the University of Maryland Chamber Singers who performed a new work by Dale Trumbore, and the St. Thomas Gospel Choir, who got all attendees on their feet!

In any event, I hope you had a wonderful week! I truly believe that we make ourselves more joyful and fulfilled when we celebrate each other. I hope you take time to celebrate our amazing NJ choral family! As always, reach out if you have any questions or thoughts!

Be Well!

John Wilson
